During the 2019 EHRA Academy, youth and community leaders participated in a participatory mapping session identifying key environmental assets and concerns in Dearborn and nearby. They used this collective information to draft air monitoring action plans.

EHRA Fellow Profile

Yasmine Elhagehassan, 2019

Yasmine is currently double-majoring in Art & Design and the Program in the Environment at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor.

"I am glad to have been a part of the EHRA experience! The program allowed me to understand the ongoing environmental issues in my community and the sociological impacts of such issues. Being surrounded by a supportive environment, working among experts and learning with other EHRA members, created a memorable and engaging experience!"

Alexander is currently studying Public Health and Biology at Wayne State University.

"Through EHRA, I learned about the horrible health crises plaguing southeast Dearborn and studied ways to improve air quality in the area. This program has given me the platform to network with experts in the local government and neighboring universities to advocate for better living conditions for citizens affect by these injustices."

Shahab is currently studying Biomolecular Science at the Univeristy of Michigan Ann Arbor.
